Corbett in five facts every visitor should hold
1. It is India's oldest national park — established in 1936 as Hailey National Park and the launch site of Project Tiger in 1973, which is why the reserve's rules feel more serious than a commercial attraction's. The history page tells that story properly.
2. The park is zoned, not open. Eight ecotourism zones, each with its own gate, permit, and character — a "Corbett safari" is really a "Bijrani safari" or a "Jhirna safari". Zone choice is the single biggest decision of the trip.
