A Thriving Wilderness of Sal Forests & Mixed Vegetation.
Inaugurated in December 2014, Dhela is the sixth eco-tourism zone of Jim Corbett National Park. Known for its rich biodiversity and scenic beauty, it has quickly become a hotspot for wildlife enthusiasts due to its extremely high frequency of tiger sightings and a thriving population of wild elephants.
Dhela is celebrated for its active tiger population. The zone's geography, featuring a mix of dense forest and open areas, makes it easier for safari-goers to track and spot the big cats.
The zone is dominated by Sal, Rohini, Haldu, and Bahera trees. Apart from tigers, you can spot Sambar deer, Barking deer, Wild Boar, and Nilgai in abundance.
The Dhela range is managed with a strict focus on eco-tourism, ensuring that the natural habitat remains undisturbed while providing a world-class experience to visitors.
Dhela's unique landscape of mixed forests and large grasslands makes it a thriving hub for some of Corbett's most iconic species.

The entry to Dhela Zone is through the Dhela Gate, which is 15 km from Ramnagar. Visitors must report with their permits and IDs 15 minutes before their shift. The gate also serves as the entrance for Jhirna safari, so ensuring you follow the correct signage for Dhela trails is important.
