The peak season for tiger sightings and wildlife enthusiasts.
While the Indian summer can be intense, it is undeniably the most rewarding time for wildlife photography and tiger sightings in Jim Corbett National Park. As the water sources dry up and the forest floor thins, the inhabitants of the jungle become much easier to spot.
Most tourists prefer the cool winter air, but the true wildlife enthusiast knows that the heat brings the predators out. The thinning vegetation means there are fewer places for a 200kg tiger to hide!
During peak summer (May and June), tigers frequently visit the remaining water holes and riverbanks of the Ramganga. Sightings in zones like Dhikala and Bijrani are at their statistical peak during these months.
March is pleasant with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C. However, by May and June, the mercury can soar up to 42°C. The dry heat can be taxing, but the early morning safaris (starting at 5:45 AM) offer a refreshing respite and the best lighting for photos.
Morning: 06:00 AM - 09:30 AM
Evening: 03:00 PM - 06:30 PM
Note: Timings may vary slightly based on forest department orders.
Summer permits for core zones like Dhikala sell out almost instantly. Secure yours today.
